I received an email/SMS alerting me that a device has gone outside its limits. Why did I get this?
You received an email/SMS message because you set up the device so that it would operate within the limits you set (these could be geographical coordinates, temperature, speed etc). When it has gone outside these limits LiveIris has alerted you to the fact so that you can act accordingly as you see fit.
